Title: Vowel Touching

Idea:

Each student will have a partner and they will draw with their finger on the partners back the six vowels. Then they will switch and the partner will draw with their finger on the others back. Each student will guess what vowel is being drawn on their back.

Title: Memory Aids

Give children glue, scissors, and constructions paper and watch them turn letters into pictures and stories. This is a tactile, hands one project for any age.

Have the children begin with a large, bold preprinted letter. Children add details that magically turn the letters into an object that associates with the letter with its name or sound.

Title: Feeling Your Way....

Cut out vowels and have students close their eyes and feel the shape of the letters and identify them! Or have students turn letters into something to help them identify w/ that vowel.

Title: Felt Fun

Idea: Cut vowels out of felt material. Have the students feel the vowels and see if the can identify them. You can have both upper and lower case vowels and have the students put match the upper case letter to the lower case letter. This can also be done using a variety of different materials besides just felt.
