Consonant Blends/Tactile

Title: On the Spot

Idea:

For the tactile learner, file folder gamers are a great tool to help supplement the curriculum. One book I enjoy is More fabulous file folders for language arts and math by Karen Finch.

Materials Need: Game board and 14 individual pieces put together from More fabulous file folders for language arts and math page 95-101.

How to Play: Have the students look at the picture on the circle. Tell the student to place the circle on correct beginning blend sound on the giraffe in the folder.

Title: Roll the Dice
Idea: Make 2 large dice with various consonant blends.  Have children take turns rolling the dice to create words.  Have the children in two teams and see who can make the most words with that blend.
