Auditory/Read Critically Title: Critical Reading Students will use a checksheet to help them understand interesting facts, understand what the author is trying to get across, and determine how you might use what you have read. Reading activities might include previewing, annotating, condensing, outlining, and outlining. Then a checksheet will be conducted to make sure all areas are covered. Title: Reading with Audio Idea: For an auditory learners, the teacher can record themselves reading a particular story out loud using the recorder found in most all computers. The file then can be saved as a .wav or mp3 file and transferred to an mp3 player. Have the auditory learner listen to the audio recording while independently reading the book. After the audio of the book is finished, the teacher could also record key points about the story for the student to listen to. Finally, the student could give an oral presentation of what he/she read/listened to. Resource: Brian Walther Contributor: Brian Walther Email: bswalther@pluto.dsu.edu
