| Narrator 1 | This is the story of five friends from the town of Food Falls. |
| Narrator 2 | There was LaMilka Bones and Frank Strong-muscle. |
| Narrator 1 | There was Kale Eye-see. |
| Narrator 2 | There was Berry Clear-skin. |
| Chorus | And there was Muffin G0-more. |
| Narrator 1 | Because they lived near Pyramid Park |
| Chorus | The friends called themselves the Pyramid Pals. |
| Narrator 2 | Ever since they were little, the five pals dreamed about owning a restaurant. When they got older, they all went to cooking school. And now their dream was about to come true. |
| Chorus | They were going to open a restaurant for kids. |
| Narrator 1 | The five friends met at their favorite picnic table in Pyramid Park. |
| Narrator 2 | They needed to decide what foods to serve. |
| Chorus | And they needed to name their restaurant. |
| Narrator 1 | LaMilka Bones spoke first. |
| LaMilka Bones | I think we should serve Milk Group foods. They help kids grow strong bones and teeth. |
| Chorus | LaMilka held up the sign she made. |
| LaMilka | Let's call our restaurant Daisy's Dairy Diner. We can serve milk, cheese and yogurt. We can serve pudding and milkshakes. |
| Chorus | Don't forget ice cream and frozen yogurt. |
| Narrator 2 | LaMilka placed her sign on the picnic table. |
| LaMilka | Kids need to eat Milk Group foods every day for strong bones and teeth. |
| Chorus | It's true. Kids need to eat Milk Group foods for strong bones and teeth. |
| Frank Strong-muscle | Kids also need strong muscles! |
| Narrator 1 | Frank Strong-muscle jumped up. |
| Frank | That is why I think we should serve Meat Group foods. For strong muscles, you need to eat foods from the Meat Group. |
| Chorus | Frank held his sign up. |
| Frank | Let's call our restaurant The Muscle-Building Buffet. We can serve chicken, fish and hamburgers. We can serve eggs and ham. |
| Chorus | And peanut butter, too! |
| Narrator 2 | Frank placed his sign on the picnic table. |
| Frank | Kids need to eat Meat Group foods to build strong muscles. |
| Chorus | It's true. Kids need to eat Meat Group foods to build strong muscles. |
| Kale Eye-see | I have another idea. I think we should serve vegetables. Foods in the Vegetable Group help you see in the dark. We could have a drive-through salad bar. And every Saturday, kids could pick their own vegetables for a special stir-fry. We could call it the U-Pick-It Eating House. |
| Chorus | Kale put his sign on the picnic table. |
| Kale | Kids need to eat Vegetable Group foods to see in the dark. |
| Chorus | It's true. Kids need to eat Vegetable Group foods to see in the dark. |
| Berry Clear-skin | But kids also need to heal their cuts and bruises. That's why I think we should serve lots of fruit. We can call our restaurant the Fruit Basket Bistro. We can serve watermelon, oranges and pears. |
| Chorus | Add apples, strawberries and grapes, too! |
| Narrator 1 | Berry added her sign to the picnic table. |
| Berry | Kids need to eat Fruit Group foods to help their bodies heal cuts and bruises. |
| Chorus | It's true. Kids need to eat Fruit Group foods to help their bodies heal cuts and bruises. |
| Muffin Go-more | My turn! |
| Narrator 2 | Muffin started dragging her sign over to the table. |
| Kale | Wow! Your sign is really long. |
| LaMilka, Frank, Kale, Berry | The Go, Go, Grill and Bakery. |
| Muffin | Kids need energy. So we can serve Grain Group foods like cereal, noodles and rice. We can wear white aprons and bake big loaves of hot bread. Kids need to eat Grain Group foods to get the energy they need to learn and play. |
| Chorus | It's true. Kids need to eat Grain Group foods to get the energy they need to learn and play. |
| Narrator 1 | The Pyramid Pals stared at the signs on the picnic table. |
| Frank | Each of the Five Food Groups is important. |
| Berry | Each food group helps kids grow up strong and healthy in a different way. |
| LaMilka | Of course! It takes foods from all Five Food Groups to help kids grow up strong and healthy. |
| Chorus | That's true. It takes foods from all Five Food Groups -- Milk, Meat, Vegetable, Fruit and Grain -- to help kids grow up strong and healthy. |
| Muffin | I vote that we serve foods from all Five Food Groups. |
| LaMilka, Frank, Kale, Berry | Yes! |
| Narrator 2 | The pals moved the signs around the table. All of a sudden they realized... |
| Chorus | The five signs formed a pyramid. |
| LaMilka | The pyramid stands for wisdom. Our restaurant can be a place where kids learn the smartest way to eat so they can grow up strong and healthy. |
| Chorus | The five pals smiled. |
| Muffin | We'll build our restaurant in the shape of a pyramid. We'll call it the Pyramid Cafe. |
| Kale | We'll put Grain Group foods on the first floor. |
| Berry | We'll put Vegetable Group and Fruit Group foods on the second floor. |
| Frank | On the third floor, we'll make room for the Milk Group and the Meat Group. |
| Narrator 1 | Soon the Pyramid Cafe was built. From the day it opened, it was a place where kids could go to eat foods that helped them grow up strong and healthy. |
| Narrator 2 | So if you're ever near the town of Food Falls, be sure to stop in... |
| Chorus | At the Pyramid Cafe. |
