What is the minimum Internet
connection speed for this course?
Our suggestion is
to use at least a 56K dial up modem. Students still can use slower modems, but
there might be some problem in opening the videos. Most
computers nowadays are usually already equipped with a 56K dial up modem.
What internet
browser should I use?
The pages are made
with MS-FrontPage 2000, so we suggest students to use Internet Explorer
5.0 or better to view the pages. You can still use other browsers but it may not correctly
displayed the pages. You can get Internet Explorer 5.5 here.
What media
player should I use?
All videos are made to be played with
RealPlayer.

How to get RealPlayer?
You need to download RealPlayer to watch the
lecture videos. Click on the link (or icon) below.

Read "How to install RealPlayer?" after you click on the
link.
How to install RealPlayer?
Optional: Turn on
your computer system's Speakers, if necessary.
1) Save the file rp8-setup to
your Desktop.
2) After it has finished saving, Close All Programs, including this
browser. (You may wish to highlight and copy these instructions, paste
them to a document like Word so you can print these directions first.)
3) Your Desktop should now be visible. Find the rp8-setup.exe icon
and double-click on it. (Click the left mouse button twice in rapid
succession.)
4) This starts the installation program.
Follow the following steps
Click "Next >"
Click "Accept >"
Click "Next >"
Click "Finish"
Fill out the
registration form, if you like.
Identify your
Connection Type--if you are not sure, select "56K Modem" from the
list.
Click "Next
>"
Click "Next >"
Click "Next >"
Click "Next >"
Click "Next >"
Click "Finish"
You should see
and hear a short RealPlayer logo play and then it will send you to an Internet
web site.
5) If the video does play,
then you may remove rp8-setup.exe from your Desktop by dropping it in your
Recycle Bin.
